Two easy flick ups to begin with
Day 13 | 30 Day Challenge
The lockdown is a brilliant time to up your game and improve your skills! Don’t let the time go by without refining your technique, control, touch, perception and balance.
This advanced little tennis ball kick ups tutorial will take more practise
When we say easy, we mean that this is two of the easier flick ups. But don’t get us wrong – this still takes a lot of practise. Never be put off if you can’t master the skill immediately (or even if it takes a long time to get where you want to go)! Always remember – natural talent is just not enough. It takes hard work, and a desire to want to do something. No one can force you to get better. The Premier League players didn’t get where they are now by natural talent alone.
Drill 1: Work on the movement of rolling the ball back with just enough weight and direction to get the ball to roll on top of your foot.
Drill 2: Begin to flick up the ball with your toes – don’t worry where it goes. Keep practising until you flick it up and can catch the ball.
Drill 3: Using the same steps, work on the opposite foot to roll the ball back. This will take more focus and coordination, so don’t move to this flick up until you’ve mastered the first.
